Kindergarten studied artist Sol LeWitt’s large scale wall drawings. We talked about the colors he used and the scale of the work. Then, they got to work on their own, much smaller Sol LeWitt inspired works of art!
Students were inspired by Georgia O’Keefe’s flowers! Here are some that I hung during class. They gave them to their classroom teacher for teacher appreciation week.
Kindergarten is studying color theory so we started our unit with artist Sol Lewitt! They were awed and inspired by his large scale drawings.
2nd grade learned about warm and cool colors. They had the option of doing just the sun or a sun and moon combination. They added details to their sky such as wind, stars, clouds or something else!
3rd grade looked at and discussed the art of artist Wayne Thiebaud. Then, they created their own artworks inspired by the artist!
2nd grade created some fantastic mixed media Mixed-Up Animals!
